While it’s been discussed briefly, the most important thing to anyone is their experience and what makes them believable. Although I’m only a sophomore in college, there’s been quite a few things that have built up my work experience. So, attached below is a linear timeline of my official writer’s timeline.
The inclusion of my high school experience comes with the fact that it was not only my first exposure to the grammatical sides of writing that have built up skills necessary to where I am currently, but my work on that publication has received the Silver and Gold Award by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association – the highest award for a publication. Whoever tells you that high school doesn’t matter anymore is wrong because I’ll continue to boast about that. That was hard work.
For now, I can say that I’ve dabbled into professional, journalistic, and creative mediums of writing, making my writing tool belt fuller and fuller. It’s important to put yourself out there, but it’s also important to dabble in a little bit of everything just to get a good sense of all there is to offer.
